CAPIC
The Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communcationsis (Capic )is a Canadian organization that was formed in 1978 to further the professional development of illustrators, photographers and digital artists. There are now 6 chapters nationally. Joining Capic is a great way to support Copyright Act revisions and meet other professionals. It is a great resource for legal information, issues specific to illustration and offers many good links to other organizations.

GAG
The Graphic Artists Guild (GAG) is an American organization established 32 years ago. It offers authoratative and current information regarding copyright issues in the U.S. and acts as a very powerful advocate for the intellectual rights and ethical practices of working artists. Its annual publication the Graphic Artists Guild's Handbook of Pricing & Ethical Guidelines
is and invaluable resource for all artists working in this area.

IPA
The Illustrator's Partnership of America (IPA) was founded about 5 years ago and is largely directed by such high profile illustrators as Brad Holland, C.F. Payne and Gary Taxali among others. It is an organization which focuses on the idea of artists taking back control and rights over their work. Issues pursued on this site include: ccopyright revisions (US), stockhouses and orphaned works. A very pro active and informative site.

AOI
The Association of Illustrators (AOI)is a group out of the UK. Established in 1973 they too are working to "protect illustrators rights and encourage professional standards". This as the others listed here is an excellent and authoritative resource site.
